NC-NELA Response to Proposed Independent Contractor Classification Changes

Below is the official comment from the North Carolina section of the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA-NC) in regards to the United States Department of Labor’s (USDOL) recent proposed changes to independent contractor classification. If approved, this will classify many more working citizens as independent contractors, who do not have rights under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
